Human Sculpture
Human Sculpture is a relationship mapping exercise that helps participants build useful connections and understand how people, roles, or ideas relate.
How to run it
- Explain the objective of the activity and how it will work.
- Clarify that participants will create human sculptures using only their bodies, either individually or in groups.
- Example themes: teamwork, leadership, conflicts, communication, inclusion, emotions (joy, frustration, etc.).
- You can also let each group freely choose a concept to represent.
- Divide participants into small groups of 4 to 6 people.
- Participants form figures or scenes with their bodies, as if they were living sculptures.
- Reflect on a topic (e.g., leadership, inclusion, cooperation).
- Prepare the space: In-person: A spacious and clear area where participants can move freely.
- Optional materials: Background music (to inspire or create a relaxing atmosphere).

- Where we observed it: The strongest current observations come from Participatory Methods; aggregators are listed as additional observations, not origin proof. (1 source observed, including Participatory Methods.)
- What that means: we track where an exercise has been observed in public sources. We do not claim to know who created it, or how popular it is.
- No efficacy claims: appearing in this library is not a claim that the exercise is proven effective. Facilitator judgment and context decide whether it works for a given room.
