How to run it

  1. Form two lines, standing shoulder to shoulder, facing each other about 1.5 metres apart.
  2. Stand at the opening of one end of the two lines, facing your group.
  3. Group assumes the agreed ‘spotting’ skills position.
  4. Upon issuing a series of agreed ‘Are-you-ready?’ commands, walk slowly between the two lines.
  5. Adopting an unsteady manner, attempt to walk to the end of the two lines, falling randomly at any time.
  6. Group aims to protect you from falling to the ground, and when you do, it returns you to equilibrium, each time.
  7. The Gauntlet Trust building activity to develop group support & safety.
  8. The Gauntlet is both an effective spotting skills exercise and a trust-building activity that builds confidence whilst strengthening team bonds.
  9. Teams develop stronger relationships that require focused attention and genuine care for others, creating powerful moments of mutual care and responsibility.
