SAFE-BOLD Framework
SAFE-BOLD Framework is an ideation warm-up exercise for divergent ideation: it helps participants open up more possible ideas before choosing a direction.
How to run it
- Pass out sticky notes and pens to your players.
- Draw four linear scales and label them as follows:
- Left - “S mall” = ideas that do not make customers curious or intrigued; customers have probably already thought of these
- Right - “B ig” = ideas that customers see as far-reaching
- Left - “A chievable” = ideas that are not risky
- Right - “O utperforming” = ideas that are risky and innovative, push customers out of their comfort zone, and show that you can help them get ahead of their competitors
- Left - “F ollowing” = ideas that are used, dull, not innovative
