Human Knot
The Human Knot can be used to illustrate the importance of group cooperation, trust, being considerate of each other, and working together a good icebreaker for new teams that aren't afraid to hold hands!
How to run it
- The goal is to figure out how to untangle the human knot without letting go of hands or see which team can come the closest to untangling the human knot
- Stand in a circle with your People Science Team
- Use your right hand to grab the right hand of the person directly across from you
- Use your left hand to grab the left hand of another person
- person beside them or be holding both hands of the same person Untangle, as a group, back into one open circle, without letting go of hands or dislocating any joints
- Facilitator Notes No one should be holding the hand of the person beside them or be holding both hands of the same
- No one can let go of any hands, but rather you must climb through, walk around and twist until the knot is
- Can change hand/grip positions but must stay connected
- If people get hopelessly tangled you can allow them to start over
- Standing in a circle, group members reach across to connect hands with different people.
