Ask Me About... - SEL 3 Signature Practices Playbook
Ask Me About... - SEL 3 Signature Practices Playbook is a team reflection exercise for reflection and learning: it helps participants reflect on experience and turn observations into learning.
How to run it
- Reflect on the current context, the demographics of participants, and the purpose of this engagement. Provide enough 3×5 index cards for each person to have one.
- Ask participants to write down at least three topics they would be happy to talk about. Consider setting guidelines such as “at least one should be work-related/class-related” if you feel the need to do so.
- Ask participants to find a partner who they haven’t spoken with yet today (or use another more random partner-finding strategy, such as “find someone who is wearing a similar color shirt”). They’ll exchange cards.
- Participants take their own card back, and as time allows they can repeat the exercise with new partners.

- Participants think of topics they actually do want to be asked about -- not just typical small-talk.

- Where we observed it: The strongest current observations come from CASEL; aggregators are listed as additional observations, not origin proof. (1 source observed, including CASEL.)

- No efficacy claims: appearing in this library is not a claim that the exercise is proven effective. Facilitator judgment and context decide whether it works for a given room.
