Inner World Tour

Participants complete a quiet, seated body-scan meditation to observe physical sensations and release tension. A brief, optional debrief allows them to share neutral observations or keep their reflections private.

Timing: UWT suggested duration based on the standard 5 to 15 minute range in source materials.

Materials and tools

Before participants arrive

  1. Arrange seating so participants have enough physical space to sit comfortably without touching neighbors.
  2. Dim bright overhead lights if the room allows, or leave them steady without flickering.

Say this to open

We will take ten minutes for a quiet body-scan exercise called Inner World Tour. The goal is simply to notice your physical sensations without needing to change or fix anything. You may close your eyes or keep a soft downward gaze on the floor. If at any point you prefer to step out or sit quietly without following the prompts, you are welcome to do so.

How to run it

  1. Settle posture and breath 2 minutes

Ask participants to find a balanced seated position with feet flat on the floor or resting comfortably. Read the settling section of the script. Allow 30 seconds of quiet breathing.

  2. Scan physical sensations 4 minutes

Guide participants systematically through areas of the body: feet and legs, torso and back, shoulders and neck, and face and jaw. Pause 15 to 20 seconds between prompts so participants can observe tension, temperature, or resting sensations.

  3. Return attention to the room 2 minutes

Prompt participants to deepen their breathing, make gentle movements like wiggling fingers or rolling shoulders, and open their eyes or lift their gaze back to room level.

  4. Optional group reflection 2 minutes

Invite two or three volunteers to share brief observations about what physical cues they noticed. Remind everyone that sharing is optional.

Debrief questions

Finished output: Completion of a physical relaxation scan, with participants choosing either to voice an observation or maintain private reflection.

Remote

Run via video meeting. Invite participants to sit comfortably away from their keyboards. Camera on or off is optional during the meditation. The facilitator reads the script over the main audio channel with background noise silenced.

Hybrid

In-person and remote participants remain seated. Remote participants listen via the shared meeting audio. During the debrief, alternate between in-room volunteers and chat comments from remote attendees.

Access and participation choices

If the session gets stuck

A participant falls asleep or appears drowsy during the quiet scan.
Use a clear, conversational speaking voice when guiding the return to the room, and suggest gentle arm or shoulder stretches to regain alertness.
Outside hallway noise interrupts the silence.
Acknowledge the sound calmly in your narration: 'Notice any sounds around you without judgment, then return your attention to your breathing.'

Facilitator Guided Body Scan Script

1. SETTLING (2 min):'Take a moment to sit comfortably with your feet on the floor. Let your hands rest on your lap. You can close your eyes or keep your gaze cast softly down toward the floor in front of you. Take one slow breath in through your nose, hold it for a moment, and exhale slowly. Notice the sensation of your body resting on your chair.' 2. BODY SCAN (4 min):'Shift your awareness down to your feet. Notice where your shoes make contact with the floor. Notice warmth, coolness, or tingling. Move your attention up your shins and calves to your knees and thighs. Notice any weight or tension.'(Pause 15 seconds)'Now bring attention to your lower back, your stomach, and your chest. Notice the gentle rise and fall of your breathing. Do not try to force deep breathing; just notice the natural rhythm.'(Pause 15 seconds)'Move your focus up to your shoulders, arms, and hands. Notice if your shoulders are pulled up toward your ears, and allow them to drop slightly if they wish. Notice if your fingers are curled or relaxed.'(Pause 15 seconds)'Finally, bring your attention to your neck, throat, jaw, and face. Notice if your jaw is clenched or if your brow is furrowed. Let the muscles soften.'(Pause 15 seconds) 3. RETURN (2 min):'Take a slightly deeper breath in and let it out. Begin to bring your awareness back to the room around you. Gently wiggle your fingers and toes. Roll your shoulders back once or twice. When you feel ready, open your eyes or lift your gaze.'

Sources and adaptation

Observed on Playmeo under the title 'Inner World Tour', which credits the activity entry to Lisa Laura.

Retained the core Playmeo structure of an instructor-led inner body relaxation and guided awareness meditation. UWT supplied the specific 10-minute timing framework, exact spoken prompts, access guidelines, and practical debrief questions since the original repository locked the full script behind a paywall.
